Professor Zhou Wuzhong's team attended the special symposium on urban environmental design in Xiongan New District

           At the invitation of the Management Committee of Xiongan New District, 10 people from the director of the Innovation Design Center of our school, the rotating chairman of the International Society of Design Sciences and Professor Zhou Wuzhong of the Design College rushed to Xiongan New District to attend the special seminar on urban environmental design of Xiongan New District held on the afternoon of May 4.

      The establishment of Xiong'an New District in Hebei Province is an important strategic choice made by the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as its core. It is a major national event and a millennium plan. General Secretary Xi Jinping personally planned, personally made decisions, personally promoted and devoted a lot of effort. On February 23, 2017, he visited the field and delivered important speeches. He hosted many meetings, conducted research and deployment, and made important instructions, which pointed out the direction for the planning and construction of Xiongan New Area.

      The seminar was chaired by Zhang Yuxin, deputy director of Xiongan New District Management Committee. At the seminar, the leaders of Li Xueli and Wang Zhigang, deputy director of Xiongan New Area Planning and Construction Bureau, introduced the contents of the Outline of Xiongan New Area Planning in Hebei Province and related research projects. In the seminar, Professor Zhou Wuzhong, Chairman-in-Office of the International Society of Design Sciences, Director of Innovative Design Center of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Professor Zhou Haoming of Tsinghua University, Associate Professor Kong Fanqiang of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Dr. Zheng Dedong of Southeast University, Professor Frank Hartmann, School of Design, Weimar Bauhaus University, Germany, and Glass, UK Representatives of Professor John Shackleton of Columbia University made speeches, introduced their respective research expertise and achievements, and discussed the problems and Countermeasures in planning, design, construction and management of urban environmental facilities in Xiongan New District. Shenzhen Industrial Design Association and the heads of five design enterprises attended the meeting and participated in the seminar. Finally, Vice Director Wang Zhigang made specific arrangements on how to promote the research work on this topic.

      Before attending the seminar, Professor Zhou Wuzhong and Professor Zhou Haoming inspected the natural scenery and tourist resort facilities of Xiongan New Area, such as Baiyangdian and Gazi Resort, and made a preliminary understanding of the ecological environment, history, culture, customs and customs of Xiongan New Area.

      On May 5, under the careful arrangement of Professor Zhou Haoming's team of Tsinghua University, Professor Zhou Wuzhong and Professor Zhou Haoming co-chaired a work promotion seminar in Tsinghua University. We also visited the History Museum of Tsinghua University, the relevant laboratories of the Academy of Fine Arts and Qingshan Design Institute. The participants reached preliminary intentions on the theoretical research and project cooperation of environmental art design.
