The design site is located in the northwest of the ancient town of Chucha Town, Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, China. It covers an area of 120,000 square meters, of which the temple covers an area of about 20,000 square meters.

Chucha Town has a long history. It is said that there are two kinds of tea and palm trees. They were first built in Tang Dynasty by fishermen, named Chucha. During Song Dynasty, Buddhism gradually flourished. Shousheng Chan Temple was built in Song Xianchun (1265-1274 A.D.) after more than 800 years of wind and rain, and now the reconstruction work has been carried out. It can be seen that Shousheng Chan Temple is the witness, symbol and symbol of the history of the ancient town of Kucha.

Project Design Concept

Design the public green space around the temple in a way that is more acceptable to contemporary people. The design enables the temple to better integrate into the landscape, not only to meet the needs of religious belief activities, but also to meet the needs of people's tours and cultural exchanges, to play the role of public gardens, to reduce the sense of religious distance, thus creating a refreshing spatial experience.

According to the original site, the gentle slope will be changed into the northwest high and Southeast low, and the original height difference of 5 meters will be raised to 15 meters by the way of stacking slope, in order to reproduce the poetry description of "Red Rizhao Tower Shadow, Qingshan Yingshi Wall"。

Using elevation difference and vegetation to "hide" the temple in the mountain, the gurgling water surrounds the temple, creating a refreshing Zen space for longevity.

Perfect fragrance is often described in the world as having fragrance such as Pterocarpus grandis. With the incense tree as the rank, the fragrance of the sky is filled with fragrance. The Baixiang Garden is planted with incense trees and fragrant flowers from Buddhism, which are suitable for local growth such as cloves and jasmine.
